A-one-and-a-half-year-old Chitungwiza toddler last week drowned in a bucket. Acting Harare provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Tarirai Dube confirmed the incident.
“We received a report of the death of a-one-and-a-half-year-old toddler from Unit N in Chitungwiza who fell in a bucket filled with water while playing in the toilet and drowned,” she said.
According to reports gathered by police it is alleged that on April 3 the toddler was playing outside the house unmonitored when he proceeded to the toilet. It is alleged that while inside the toilet the toddler approached a bucket which was filled with water.
Police reports indicates that the toddler allegedly fell in the bucket and drowned. The toddler was later discovered by a relative who had visited the toilet and a report was made to the police.
