CHITUNGWIZA – The missing child who was later found dead in a well in Zengeza was buried at Unit L cemetery yesterday in a tense atmosphere that saw the mother being forced to leave the funeral wake.

The deceased Nester Nyasha Nyamutaka’s mother Isabel Mandaza was forced to leave the funeral wake after she went on a ‘hunger strike’ suspecting foul play in her son’s death. Nyasha died while he was in his father’s custody. He had gone for a holiday.
“I was chased by one of Creaven’s relatives because I refused to eat food there,” said Isabel.
“They started by complaining why I had fingered one of Creaven’s relatives as a suspect in my son’s disappearance. They failed to give me satisfactory answers and the doctor could not give us results because the body was too decomposed for a post-mortem to be carried out.
“As we speak Creaven’s relative is not among the mourners raising questions and they did not want me at the funeral,” said Isabel.
Nyasha’s body was discovered in a well some metres away from his father’s house at advanced stages of decomposition.
Nyasha was reported missing on his birthday and his body was discovered by builders after they ran out of water from the well along Kushinga Road in Zengeza 4. At the burial service, speaker after speaker warned the perpetrators behind the disappearance of Nyasha.
The owner of the house in whose well the body was discovered, identified only as Jambo, stunned mourners after he blamed himself for separating with his wife some months before the incident.
“I am still to find out why the body was dumped at my house only to be discovered after my separation with my wife, it was a bad omen” said Jambo shedding tears. Most of my neighbours fetched water from the well and they never saw the body, this still clings on my mind,” he added.
