Brother exposes sister to electric shocks

HARARE – A Harare woman told a court that she is being tortured by her brother who exposes her to mild electric shocks when she is sleeping.

Linda Kaitano said she has become a victim of physical abuse from her brother David who is in the habit of torturing her while she is asleep. Linda opened up at Harare Civil Court where she was seeking a protection order against David.

“He threatens to kill me and he has been electrocuting me when I am asleep so I want him stopped from doing that.

“He puts a live wire inside my eye when I am asleep and he says he does that because he does not want me to stay at our late father’s house,” she said.

She went on to tell the court that she wanted David barred from insulting her and beating her up.

Responding to the claims, David denied the accusations; he said that the problems he was facing with Linda were because of the late sister’s children who were causing problems at the house.

“She is not telling the truth that I am disturbing her peace, the only problem why I am not in good books with my sister is because she always wants to protect the children of our late sister even when they are doing bad things at home,” said David.

Magistrate Vongai Muchuchuti, who presided over the case, granted the protection order which orders David to keep his peace towards Linda.
