A German Bundesliga side have finally broken the silence on their interest for Kaizer Chiefs deadly striker Knowledge “Smash and Grab” Musona. Hoffenheim general manager Ernst Tanner said they were expecting the Zimbabwean international to join the teams for trials next week.

This comes after Hoffenheim completed the signing of Michael Gregoritsch early this week from Austrian outfit Kapfenberger SV. Commenting on Musona, Tanner said: “I have been trying to fly over to South Africa to see him in action, however, it did not really work out”.

Musona is also reportedly featuring high on the wanted list of Scottish side Glasgow Celtic, who have sent a letter to Chiefs chairperson Kaizer Motaung to that effect.

“I was so happy when our manager Bobby Motaung informed me on Monday that 1899 Hoffenheim have invited me to train with them,” said Musona.

On the interest from Celtic, Musona said: “I haven’t heard anything about the interest from Celtic. I believe that I’m ready to play in Europe.

“I’m hopeful that I will impress the technical staff of Hoffenheim,” said Musona, who this week won the Chiefs’ Players’ Player of the Season award. Chiefs manager Bobby Motaung said: “Musona is leaving for Germany on Monday night for trials with Hoffenheim and we wish him all the best”.
