Musona double as Zimbabwe beat Mali 2-1

Kaizer Chiefs striker Knowledge Musona scored twice for Zimbabwe as the hosts ran out 2-1 winners over Mali to register their first win in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers on Sunday. Musona scored the first goal just before half time before converting from the spot for his second in the dying minutes of the game.

It was a lucky win given Musona had to take his penalty twice after the referee adjudged that Mali goalkeeper Soumaila had moved from his line. Musona found the mark with his second attempt, sparking wild scenes of celebration from a colourful crowd. Mali pulled one goal back soon after half time through El Hadji Mohamane Traore.
