Alois Bunjira rejoins Caps United

Former Zimbabwe national team striker Alois Bunjira has left FC AK in South Africa to rejoin his former boyhood club Caps United. Bunjira (35) left the Green Machine in 1996 to join ŠK Slovan Bratislava in Slovakia.

In 1999 ‘Zola” as he was nicknamed left Slovakia to join the South African premiership where he had stints with Qwa Qwa Stars, Wits University, Mamelodi Sundowns and then later Jomo Cosmos.

FC AK where he was in the later stage of his football career is a South African football team from the Gauteng Province. They were promoted to the National First Division at the end of the 2009/10. Bunjira also spent time doing media work, mainly writing sports articles for newspapers.

Announcing the deal to rejoin Caps United, Bunjira who has 30 senior national team caps said on his facebook page, “Deal signed and concluded…….am back at where it all happened…..:-)!”

Bunjira began his career with Darryn Textiles in 1991 to 1993 smashing in 76 goals. He moved to Blackpool FC in 1994 where he scored 18 goals. Caps United was to be his next destination scoring 59 goals before he went abroad. Nehanda Radio.com
