Bid for Bhasera delayed by work permit doubts

Attempts by struggling English Championship (Division One) side Crystal Palace to sign Zimbabwe and Plymouth Argyle full back Onismor Bhasera hang in the balance because of lingering doubts over his work permit renewal.

The 25 year old has been a sensation since turning out for the Pilgrims and interest from several clubs in the England has been high. The first time Bhasera applied for a work permit was when Portsmouth first tried to sign him. He only got the permit after having appealed a refusal.

The work permit will need to be renewed soon and Palace want the issue sorted out first before they splash money on the player. Bhasera has featured in 22 games for Argyle and scored his first goal in their recent 3-1 win over MK dons. His coach Peter Reid suitors must meet Plymouth’s valuation of the player.
