Zanu PF in mad panic over Mugabe poor health

Reports that 87 year old dictator Robert Mugabe is seriously ill and had to go to Malaysia for an operation on his prostrate have thrown his party into a mad panic and there was even feverish speculation the army was deployed countrywide just in case he kicked the bucket.

On Monday the British Daily Telegraph newspaper published an article by veteran Zimbabwean journalist Peta Thornycroft claiming Mugabe “is in hospital in Malaysia after an operation on his prostate”. The report said his party was confident he would “return home within a week and recover fully.”

The operation on the Zanu PF leader was described as ‘serious’ after his prostrate flared up. The Malaysia Star newspaper however quoted a Foreign Ministry spokesman saying “There is no indication that Mugabe is here for an operation.”

Mugabe’s motor-mouthed spokesman George Charamba told journalists “You seem to know more about the President than I do. As far as I am concerned, the President is on his annual leave and we made this public. He will be back soon.”
