Governor says Rhodes remains blocking rains

By Fortune Tazvida

From the party that brought you ‘diesel from a rock in Chinhoyi’ comes a new release courtesy of Zanu PF Bulawayo governor, Cain Mathema who has called for the remains of colonial settler Cecil John Rhodes in Matopo to be exhumed.

The reasoning from the governor is that the remains of Rhodes who was buried there on the 10th of April 1902, are blocking the rains from falling. Mathema whose status as governor is in dispute by the MDC-T alongside 9 others said he wondered why the grave is still found there, years after independence.

“We are going exhume it and send it to Britain where it belongs.  Right now we are failing to get rains because of Rhodes’ bones buried at Matopo Hills,” Mathema claimed. He has also said David Livingstone’s stature in Victoria Falls should also be removed and replaced by one of long time dictator Robert Mugabe.

Mathema remains a bit of a wayward character and not new to controversy. In September last year we reported how he told his wife that her private parts are ‘too wide’ and he wants to marry a virgin to satisfy his ravenous sexual appetite. This was one of many astonishing revelations that exposed the Zanu PF appointed governor as a sex mad alcoholic.

At the time the governor was having an affair with ZBC reporter Jocelyn Muguya. To make matters worse Jocelyn was suspected to be a couple of months pregnant. Mathema’s wife asked for a divorce in the courts saying she has had enough. The governor was accused of being an alcoholic and very abusive when he comes back home drunk. Most of the abuse was said to take place in front of his children.
