Gamu Nhengu shines at the MOBO awards

She might have been controversially kicked out from the ITV talent show X Factor but Zimbabwean teenage singer Gamu Nhengu was one of the star attractions on the red carpet at the annual MOBO awards held in Liverpool.

She graciously told journalists she bore no hard feelings for X Factor judge Cheryl Cole who picked Katie and Cher; two acts that the public felt were not up to scratch with their performances compared to Gamu.

Gamu instead said she was pleased that Katie and Cher had got through, and she had been talking to “several major record labels” herself about her future.

“I think Cher is absolutely talented and Katie has this old school thing going on. I love my girls and really support them. I am really proud of them and I watch every Saturday,” she said.
