Bhasera close to QPR switch

By Richard Bailey

Onismor Bhasera is reportedly close to securing a deal to join Championship outfit QPR.

The 23-year-old Zimbabwean agreed a three-year deal with Portsmouth last summer but the move was cancelled after the player’s club, Kaiser Chiefs, claimed he was still under contract to them.

The defender stated that his deal with the Chiefs expired last June and the case went to Fifa but as of yet the world football governing body are still to deliver a verdict.

Former Pompey boss Paul Hart invited Bhasera down for a trial at Loftus Road and despite the fact that he has now left the club, the Zimbabwe international looks almost certain to sign on.

Chiefs manager Bobby Motaung feels a transfer is close as negotiations between the two clubs are going well.

“We have started negotiating with QPR and I think they are going to take the boy,” he told KickOff.com.

“I will follow it up tomorrow. We want Bhasera to play football and it looks like he might join QPR as negotiations are going well so far.” Sky Sports
