Free the five labour leaders

The utter display of arrogance by the police and their handlers is even more infuriating than the unwarranted arrests of the fighters for workers freedom and decent livelihoods.

The police have issued a warrant for further detention for the five cdes in custody namely

Lovemore Matombo,
Mike kandukutu,
Pecy Mcijo,
Nkosinathi Nhau,
Dumisani Ncube.

The reasons have not been given for further ditention.

Ordinarly they should either release them or take them to court which they seem not to be interested in doing.

Off the record, they are alleging that some people were seen in political party regalia, which in itself is not an offence.

Is this the Zimbabwe we want and in transition to democracy? Definitely no.

Lawyers Mashobana Ncube and K. Pulu in Victoria Falls are now working frantically to make an urgent application to the High Court in Harare to secure the release or for them to be taken to court.

Let’s keep the pressure on.
