Winky D’s comeback show

Dancehall musician Winky D makes a welcome return to Sports Diner tonight his first ever gig since his maiden trip to the United Kingdom.

Winky D, whose real name is Wallace Chirimuko, had been missing on the local scene after he went to the UK and decided to “try new things”.

He, however, could not cope and he decided try out his luck in Cape Town but again things did not work out and he has since returned to his roots where he commands a huge following.

Tonight his fans will be waiting to hear from their favourite “dancehall king” whose music endears with the life of the people in the ghetto.

He teams up with Templeman, Gusty Warrior, Dj Flevah and Dj Gerry.

Winky D, is one artiste who holds his own in so far as dancehall music is concerned. Though at times controversial, Winky D says his music represents the life and times of those who live in the ghettos.

He says the lyrics also inspire and encourage the people from the ghetto to feel good and be proud of their life. TH Showbiz
