Bangladesh take 3-1 lead over Zim

Bangladesh took an unassailable 3-1 lead over Zimbabwe in their ODI series after an astonishing match in which only 93 runs were scored.

Zimbabwe recorded the fifth lowest total by any team as Enamul Haque Jr and Shakib Al Hasan took three wickets each to skittle the tourists for 44.

Tamim Iqbal then top-scored for the hosts with 22 as they cruised to 49-4 off just 11.5 overs in Chittagong.

Masakadza: We misread pitch

Skipper Hamilton Masakadza admits he misread the wicket as Zimbabwe crashed to a six-wicket defeat and lost the one-day series against Bangladesh.

Masakadza won the toss and batted first in Chittagong, but saw his side shot out for just 44 – the fifth lowest one-day total in history.

He said: “It looked like a good batting track but it was too slow for a one-day wicket. We definitely misread it.”

Shakib delighted by victory

Skipper Shakib Al Hasan admitted it was a “wonderful feeling” to bowl Zimbabwe out for 44 and win the ODI series.

It was the lowest total in a game against Bangladesh, who polished off their target in less than 12 overs.

Shakib said: “I also wanted a 10-wicket win which we haven’t had before. Disappointed that it didn’t happen but maybe next time. Bowling a side out for 44 does not happen every day.” Teletext.co.uk
