Cosafa: Warriors scrape past Botswana

COSAFA cup hosts Zimbabwe produced a last minute sucker punch to beat Botswana 1-0 and scrape into the semi-finals of the regional football competition. Sunday Chidzambwa’s side struggled to find their stride in the match which saw striker Evans Gwekwerere booed by the home crowd until his eventual substitution in the second half.

Zimbabwe’s goal came via a goal mouth melee 3 minutes before the end of the game which was stabbed home by Monomotapa midfielder Mthulusi Maphosa. The warriors will now face South Africa who beat Angola 2-0 in the other quarter final.
