South African Jazz star Ringo Madlingozi raised eyebrows at the Tourism Night show held at the Harare International Conference Centre over the weekend when he appeared to fondle a young lady he had called on stage for a dance.
The lady was determined to dance with Ringo, but things went awry when he grabbed the lady under her arms with his hands stuck on her breasts prompting the lady to pull away from Ringo and leave the stage in a huff before Ringo could make a second move.
Ringo called another lady who also left in no time. Puzzled with the two ladies’ response to his raunchy act Ringo was heard commenting on Zimbabwean ladies. “I can see what is with Zimbabwean ladies, they are so conservative,” said Ringo.
The event was screened live on television by the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Holdings. This is not the first time that such an incident has happened. In 2007, Botswana musician Odirile Santo popularly known as Vee ruffled feathers of Zimbabwean people when he performed explicit dance routines during the same event, which was dubbed the Big Five Concert at the same venue.
Like Ringo, Vee asked two ladies to join him on stage to complement his performance. Unfortunately, one of the ladies was Miss Nyanga who went on stage before Vee hauled her to the floor. His performance irked the organisers and the crowd who booed him off the stage. TH
