Intimidation of MDC students at Fort Hare

Must Try

Trending

AS the MDC Provincial Organising Secretary Rodgers was addresing scores of students at Fort Hare University on Friday, e-mails were dispatched from the Registra’s office to every student asking them to notify MDC aligned students to report to the Registra’s office for disciplinary action.

The entire MDC branch leadership of 12 students will be chucked out of college on Monday. About 600 other students who attended the rally are sure to face the chop. A massive demonstraton at the university is looming as MDC SA squares up with University over the continued intimidation of the students.

The ANC Youth League and Congress of South African Students (COSAS) have thrown their weight behind the demonstration. We are also giving Dr. Tom Mvuyo, up to Tuesday afternoon to rescind the decision to chop students.

We appeal to him to immediately release the students’ meal cards since payment was made already. The money was paid and  there is no justification in starving students.

Students’s meal cards were deactivated, literally sentencing them to a ‘scotched earth policy’. This is unaccaptable in any modern period. The Presidential Scholarship is bankrolled by the tax-payer’s money and students can’t be treated like rubbish by ambitious individuals who regard Zimbabwe as their family treasury.

Sibanengi Dube: Opposition CCC MPs join Zanu PF in looting state coffers

By Sibanengi Dube President Emmerson Mnangagwa, fearful of losing elections next year, is now in campaign overdrive, dishing out bribes to people right in the seat of government. Cabinet ministers are getting US$500 000 “loans” they have not applied for despite having a few months left in their terms. How they are going to repay them is never said. Deputy ministers are getting US$350 000 under a similar dodgy scheme. The bribes have been extended to all Members of Parliament who will each get US$40 000. How they are going to repay the “loans” is not explained, given that some may not be in the august house after the elections. Surprisingly, opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) MPs have also fallen for the bait – smiling from ear to ear as they clutched the latest windfall from Mnangagwa.

Sibanengi Dube – MDC Alliance bleeding off members to its death

100
By Sibanengi Dube | Opinion | Nelson Chamisa’s MDC Alliance is losing senior members faster than the rate at which a jetfighter drops missiles in a war zone. No party can survive such a hemorrhaging of members. The rate is frightening. Too much loss of blood has a fatal effect on human beings or any other animal. The same applies to any organization which survives through the good will of the masses. People are the blood and oxygen of any organization, especially political parties whose relevance is determined by numbers.

By Sibanengi Dube Zimbabweans across the political divides are merely asking government leaders to immediately stop looting state coffers and start diverting resources towards the benefits of all citizens. How is this wrong? The response is just as stupid as stitching up the ass in an effort to get rid of diarrhea.

Sibanengi Dube: ‘Majority of Zimbabweans mourned 40 years of Independence’

By Sibanengi Dube My dad had two Pfaff sewing machines, which he used to mend the tattered camouflages of the freedom fighters. Our yard was always green with crops as we had irrigation equipment which allowed us to have leafy crops in the field throughout the year including sugar-canes. Liberation fighters used our ever green fields as cover to hide and conceal their armaments. As time went on only senior commanders were allowed to frequent to our home for meals, while juniors were fed from the bases, notably Chehondo, Mutete or Federation.

‘Rob MDC-A parliamentary seats, Harvest House, but leave their masses’

By Sibanengi Dube The MDC Alliance is making the correct noise in the face of an unrelenting onslaught being executed against them from within and without. The Party is more interested in the masses than parliamentary seats and Harvest House.
