Prince Tendai helps in Fortune burial

By Ester Gomo (Showbiz Correspondent)

Prominent musician and former member of the RUNN family Prince Tendai has played a significant role in facilitiating the burial of the late Fortune Muparutsa who died in the UK last year in October.

Nehanda Radio understands it was Prince Tendai who helped raise the money to buy the coffin. The body of the late ‘Kanda Matombo’ singer finally arrived in Zimbabwe this week, 9 months after he died.

A funeral service has already been held in Harare at the Fidelity Funeral Life Assurance and his body was set to be taken to Mutare later on Saturday for burial at the Yeovil Cemetary.

A note accompanying Fortune’s body advised that body viewing was not recommended. Sources say since the body was embalmed in October last year it had since badly decomposed.

This caused a bit of debate among relatives who were quizzing why they could not view the body.
