Riot police camped outside the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) Harvest House headquarters on Monday in the morning.

According to party spokesman Obert Gutu, the police were said to be looking for people who allegedly assaulted a Zanu PF supporter on Saturday.

According to state media reports, Kenny Chabwana, a Zanu PF campaign manager for Makoni North constituency escaped death by a whisker after passing through Harvest House, the MDC headquarters in Harare while wearing a 21st February Movement t-shirt and a cap that had President Robert Mugabe’s picture.

According to the state owned but Zanu PF controlled Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC), Chabwana suffered severe head and eye injuries.
