The Zimbabwe Association of Community Radio Stations (ZACRAS) has initiated a regional partnership for unlicensed community radios with the United Nations and European Union in efforts to lobby President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration to free the airwaves.
KWEKWE – The police, in company of the CID Officer in Charge, soldiers from the President’s Office, and Law and Order officers Tuesday raided Radio Kwelaz offices on allegations of broadcasting without a license.

HARARE- Zimpapers Talk Radio, one of the two radio stations controversially awarded a broadcast licence last year, is set to be on air by the end of next month according to group chief executive Justin Mutasa.
Although Zimbabwe has bought and taken delivery of community radio broadcasting equipment the TransMedia Corporation CEO Florence Sigudu-Matambo said installation of the transmitters, antennae and general hardware will only begin after BAZ has completed the licensing process.
The Zimbabwe Association of Community Radio Stations calls upon the President of Zimbabwe, the Prime Minister of Zimbabwe, the Minister of Media, Information and Publicity and the Committee on Standing Rules and Orders to expedite the process of appointing a properly constituted Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe (BAZ).
