LUSAKA – Edgar Lungu, the candidate of the ruling Patriotic Front party, looks set to become Zambia’s new president after opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema conceded defeat on Saturday while charging electoral fraud.
The Zimbabwe Election Support Network deployed a 15 member delegation to observe the tripartite elections which were held on 20 September, 2011. The team observed the pre-election, election and post election phases of the Zambian Presidential, parliamentary and local government (tripartite) elections.
