After rigging the July 31, 2013 harmonised elections, the beleaguered and faction-ridden Zanu PF regime promised to create 2,2 million jobs in order to fulfill one of its key electoral promises. Twenty one (21) months after staging the historic electoral theft, the regime has not managed to create a single job; at least within the formal sector.
HARARE – Zanu PF junior spokesperson Psychology Maziwisa has conceded that his party is struggling to create the so-called 2 million jobs it promised during election time last year.

July is normally associated with cold weather in the southern hemisphere. However, in 2013 the month is decision time for Zimbabwe. Millions of Zimbabweans go to the poll and decide who will be in the next government.
For the youth in Zimbabwe it is indeed cold comfort that the serious problem does not seem to move the government of the day that is so much absorbed in elections, reforms, exit packages etc. This is a salient point, youth unemployment is today’s number one challenge.
