Gonyeti speaks out on abduction, torture

Top comedienne Samantha “Gonyeti” Kureya of the Bustop TV fame yesterday said the men who abducted her from her home in Mufakose, Harare and assaulted her before abandoning her in Crowborough North Phase 4, warned her against mocking the government through her comedy skits.

A wave of abductions, torture and arrests in Zimbabwe are targeting opposition activists and other government critics, the latest being a popular comedian dragged from her home by armed and masked men.

Barely two years after euphoric scenes engulfed Zimbabwe following the forced resignation of former repressive ruler Robert Mugabe, frustration and fear have returned.

Gonyeti denies mocking Mai Titi

Comedienne Samantha ‘Gonyeti’ Kureya has dismissed allegations that they mocked fellow comedienne Mai Titi over her HIV status confession she made on Facebook in one of their skit with Magi titled Mvura Yakachena posted on YouTube.
