Russia has confirmed one of its warships has been damaged in a Ukrainian attack on a Black Sea port. The airstrike took place at Feodosiya in Russian-occupied Crimea early on Tuesday morning.
Ukraine has used US-supplied long-range missiles for the first time, President Volodymyr Zelensky has said. His comments follow reports the weapons, known as ATACMS, destroyed nine helicopters at Russian bases in the east of the country. Ukraine has not confirmed the missiles were used.
“Evil cannot be trusted,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has told the UN General Assembly, as he urged the world to unite to end Russian aggression against his country.
A skyscraper in Russia’s capital Moscow has been attacked by a drone for the second time in two days, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has said. Several drones were shot down overnight on Monday, he said, but “one flew into the same tower at the Moskva City complex” that was targeted on Sunday.
The United States has said China is “considering providing lethal support” for Russia’s war in Ukraine. Beijing quickly rebuffed the claim this week but experts say it may have some merit and, if China did give support, could be a “game changer” in the year-old conflict.

The body of a Zambian student who was killed in Ukraine fighting for Russia has been returned to his home country. Lemekhani Nyirenda died in September but Russian officials only informed Zambian authorities last month. The 23-year-old, a student at the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute, had been serving nine years in prison for a drug offence. He was given an amnesty in exchange for fighting for Russia in Ukraine, according to the Zambian government.
