HARARE – The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has called on President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s regime to establish clear accountability measures for the recently launched Mutapa Investment Fund, addressing concerns about its potential for misuse.
The Zimbabwe United Passenger Company (ZUPCO), which now is now part of the country’s sovereign wealth fund, called Mutapa Investment Fund, an alleged shadowy launchpad for large scale looting of Zimbabwe’s natural resources and economic wealth, will this year take delivery of 550 buses that were allegedly procured under dubious circumstances involving the floating of tender procedures, Nehanda Radio can exclusively reveal.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa has been taken to court following his promulgation of the Mutapa Investment Fund which is believed to be a ploy to use legal means to loot local resources and parastatals.
The decision by President Emmerson Mnangagwa to rename the Zimbabwe Sovereign Wealth Fund into Mutapa Investment Fund has been described as an astonishing creation of a launchpad for large scale looting of Zimbabwe’s natural resources and economic wealth.
