Comedian Carl Joshua Ncube says he wants to remake the iconic ZBCtv comedy drama series Mukadota that was a hit in the 80s.
When legends are being talked about in Zimbabwe, the name Susan Chenjerai is mentioned as part of them.Chenjerai, better known as “Mai Rwizi”, entertained people through music and acting in the drama series Mhuri yaMukadota.
They worked together on and off the screen, on and off the stage and their relationship was sometimes cat-and-mouse style. Chibhodhoro and Mukadota had their fun moments whenever they did their acts and the former has sweet and sour memories of the late great comedian.
In life there are talented people but so unfortunate as to be found on the wrong side of time and fortune. Such people are highly talented but live without enjoying the fruits of their talent. Yet, to the audience that benefits from that talent, the person is a celebrity.
She played the good wife who submitted to her husband and loved him for who he was. Even when the chips were down, Mai Rwizi would cheer up Baba Rwizi who was a mischief maker.
To those who worship at The New Gospel Church of God in Mbare and Banket in Mashonaland West Province, Susan Chenjerai is one of the many pastors who routinely read verses from the Bible.
