MUTARE – Former Zanu PF youth leader Mubuso Chinguno has urged party rebels to swallow their pride and rejoin Zanu PF.
Chinguno, a former First Lady Grace Mugabe ally, was toppled from his post as Zanu PF Manicaland youth chairman and top provincial executive member when Emmerson Mnangagwa assumed the presidency via a military intervention in November 2017.
An inquiry into the illegal sale of State land in urban areas is now 60 percent complete and so far, 75 land barons have been arrested for fraud, theft of trust funds and other corruption-related offences.
Axed Zanu PF Manicaland youth chair Mubuso Chinguno has obtained an urgent court interdict preventing army officials from invading his farm. This comes amid sustained pressure by officials angling to takeover the farm belonging to the provincial member of the vanquished Generation 40 (G40) faction.
Zanu PF has suspended its Manicaland provincial youth chairperson Mubuso Chinguno, who is facing charges of misappropriating over US$400 000 mobilised to service youth residential stands in Chipinge.
One of the three critical wings of the ruling party — the Zanu PF youth league — threw down the gauntlet, declaring its undying support for First Lady Grace Mugabe to take over the vice presidency from Emmerson Mnangagwa, whom it described as a cancer, eating away the party.
Zanu PF bigwigs’ political careers are hanging by a thread after the ruling party declared that it will subject them to primary elections ahead of next year’s key elections.
