HARARE – The country’s ninth Parliament will be dominated by new faces as most of the legislators from the eighth Parliament lost in last week’s harmonised elections.
Supporters of ZANU PF who were encouraged to invade timber estates in Chimanimani by local party candidates ahead of last year’s elections, are being ordered to pack up and vacate their farms as government issues new offer letters to settlers.
A primary school that was set up last year as an election campaign gimmick by ZANU PF officials in Chimanimani was shut down without warning, leaving many students stranded and unable to transfer to other schools.
It has been reported that an unregistered school, originally set up as a campaign gimmick by ZANU PF officials in Chimanimani, has continued to operate without a curriculum and is bringing profits to unqualified ZANU PF teachers.
CHIMANIMANI – President Robert Mugabe’s Zanu PF party is being accused of cheating in advance of elections this year with officials from the Registra General’s office allegedly making it hard for known MDC-T supporters to register to vote.
Whilst some have achieved so much in the political and sporting arenas, some have seen their farms grabbed, properties destroyed and businesses seized. Do these people enjoy the same benefits given to all Zimbabweans?
