Zanu-PF primaries: Bigwigs fall as factionalism ravages ruling party

A new Zanu-PF support base is emerging following the fall of several party heavyweights, including ministers during the party’s primary elections this weekend amid reports of factionalism aligned to President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his deputy Constantino Chiwenga. Already, before the Zanu-PF politburo has announced results, several veteran parliamentarians are still in shock after they fell by the wayside during the party’s internal election. Some are also crying foul citing incidents of alleged rigging and electoral malpractices.

MPs embarrassed as Harare hotels chase them away for failing to pay

Members of Parliament have for the past four years been facing accommodation challenges as Harare hotels frequently chase them away for failing to pay residential fees. The matter this time was raised by MDC Alliance MP David Tekeshe who told the Minister of Finance Mthuli Ncube that legislators were being embarrassed every day as they are moved from one hotel to another due to non payment of accommodation fees. But Norton legislator Temba Mliswa slammed Tekeshe accusing him of sitting in the Standing Rules and Orders Committee where the welfare of Members of Parliament is discussed but failing to raise the matter.

Chinotimba under-fire over leaked video of him hammering Mnangagwa

Outspoken Zanu-PF Buhera South MP Joseph Chinotimba is under-fire from the ruling party for accusing President Emmerson Mnangagwa of attempting to impose a candidate in his constituency. This followed a leaked three minute video of him quoting a Bible and claiming that Mnangagwa was scheming to get rid of him as Member of Parliament.

Several MPs have noted a lot of deficiencies in the State of the Nation Address (SONA) made by President Emmerson Mnangagwa during his official opening of the 4th session of the ninth Parliament on Thursday.

Some did not even listen to him either because of what they claimed was a poor internet connection while some like MDC Alliance vice chairman Job Sikhala said he does not listen to the Zanu PF leader.

Chinotimba catches second wife

Buhera South Member of Parliament Joseph Chinotimba on Tuesday caused a scene at Belvedere Vehicle Inspection Department by blocking a Norton man’s vehicle he suspected of caressing and kissing his second wife.
