ZACC wants RG officer’s case probed

The Special Anti-Corruption Unit has asked the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) to investigate circumstances surrounding the release on bail of the head of marriages at the Registrar General’s office, Gordon Tsuro, after his appeal was reinstated, suggesting that the prosecutor might have acted improperly in consenting to the reinstatement and granting of bail.

Head of marriages at the Registrar-General’s Office in Harare, Gordon Tsuro, who was last year committed to prison after unlawfully enjoying freedom for six years after his conviction for assaulting his wife, is now back at work after a prosecutor consented to both the reinstatement of his appeal and release on bail.

Head of the Marriages Department at the Registrar-General’s Office in Harare, Gordon Tsuro, is walking scot-free, spending hours in Government offices despite the dismissal of his appeal against a three-year prison term six years ago.

Tsuro (48) was on June 26, 2012 convicted of seriously injuring his wife, Ms Rosemary Charlie, after striking her with an axe in a domestic dispute.
