HARARE – A provincial chairperson for Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai’s MDC has been arrested on charges of alleging Vice President Joice Mujuru was responsible for the death of her husband, retired army general Solomon Mujuru, last August.
Two ZANU PF activists, suspected of killing MDC-T official Cephas Magura in Mudzi two months ago, have died within two days of each other. Eric Katiza, one of seven youths arrested over the murder, collapsed and died while on remand, inside Mutoko Prison last week.
HARARE – Businessman and Highfield community figure Allan Banks who went missing last Wednesday was found dead in the boot of his car. His body was at an advanced stage of decomposition. Newspapers and supermarkets were awash with notices that Banks was missing since last Thursday.
The lawyer representing the family of the late army general Solomon Mujuru has questioned how the state has resources to suppress protests using anti-riot water canons and yet the fire brigade had no water when they responded to the blaze that allegedly killed Mujuru at his farm last year.
