The Constitutional Court yesterday ruled that criminal defamation must be repealed because it is undemocratic, following an application by local journalists, Nevanji Madanhire and Nqaba Matshazi.
The head of the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) Jonathan Mashingaidze was on Wednesday arrested on allegations of ‘criminally defaming’ his controversial predecessor Ms Henrietta Rushwaya. Mashingaidze was released later by police.
