BULAWAYO – A man saw red after his wife applied makeup while making herself beautiful for a friend’s wedding.
An unrepentant abusive man from Gokwe, who bashed his wife until she fell unconscious for refusing to recognise his girlfriend as a second wife, has been slapped with a seven-year jail term after being convicted of domestic violence.
A 33-year-old Harare man allegedly fatally assaulted his wife with a knobkerrie over suspicions of infidelity. Sebastian Satero of plot number 16 Danbury Farm in Marlborough accused his wife, Rennie Jakarasi of having an extra marital affair and a misunderstanding arose.
Bulawayo’s Enthumbane suburb residents were treated to running battles when a woman thrashed her husband for allegedly having a hand in the death of their child. The alleged incident which has become the talk of the suburb occured on Monday this week.
At least seven people were killed by their partners in separate incidents in 149 cases of domestic violence recorded countrywide last week. The deaths were recorded in Bulawayo, Zhombe, Murehwa, Seke, Mutoko, Bindura and Siyabuwa in Matabeleland North Province.
