Zimbabwe born Gamu Nhengu is still the punters choice to win this year’s X Factor and is expected to make a sensational return to the final line-up of contestants next week when the judges announce a wild card for the first time in the shows history.

The eighteen year old songstress is still amongst the bookies top five at odds of 6/1 despite being told no by an emotional Cheryl on Sunday night.

Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power, explained: “There’s a lot of drama in this year’s X Factor. We’re not at all surprised to hear that Gamu will be returning. She has been by far the most consistent act and the most popular with punters. Viewers can relax – Gamu is still very much in the game!”

However, painter and decorator Matt Cardle is beginning to shine now that the final twelve have been chosen and he is currently the one to beat at 11/4 with Paddy Power.

Cheryl Cole’s mini-me Cher Lloyd has slipped to 5/1 in the betting while Ireland’s own answer to Susan Boyle Mary Byrne has slipped again to 22/1. Fellow Dubliner Rebecca Creighton and her band Belle Amie have a slightly better chance at odds of 12/1. Unreality TV.co.uk
