HARARE – Scottland attacking midfielder Khama Billiat has reportedly withdrawn from the Zimbabwe national team for the second time.
According to sources, Billiat excused himself from the Warriors squad scheduled to travel to Saudi Arabia and Qatar for international friendly matches against Algeria and Qatar next week.
He has also reportedly pulled out of the squad expected to travel to Morocco for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in December.
The reasons behind Billiat’s latest withdrawal remain unclear at this stage.
Billiat is not part of the Warriors squad that has been announced by the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) for the two friendlies.
Billiat had come out of international retirement in August last year after then-coach Michael Nees reached out to him, persuading him to return.
His first retirement was in November 2021.
