Bosso chairman Kenneth Mhlophe under fire from fans, faces Vote of No Confidence

BULAWAYO – Highlanders chairman Kenneth Mhlophe is under fire from the club’s lifetime members, who are pushing for his removal, along with that of the entire executive committee, through a Vote of No Confidence motion set to be tabled at the next Annual General Meeting (AGM).

A growing number of Bosso fans have expressed frustration with Mhlophe and his team, accusing them of corruption, incompetence and maladministration.

Some members who spoke to Nehanda Radio on condition of anonymity said: “As Highlanders FC members, we are strongly against the current executive due to its incompetence and failure to deliver results during its tenure.

“For instance, under their leadership, we’ve seen alarming levels of corruption, mismanagement and poor decision-making. They fired coach [Kelvin] Kaindu without a plan and have failed to secure a work permit for new coach Pieter de Jong, who has been in the country for over three weeks.

“Mhlophe and his team lack the capacity, credibility and vision required to run a modern football club. We are tired.

“Highlanders has many capable professionals and it’s time they step in to save the club from becoming a circus.

“We want our skilled sons in various sectors to take over. Mhlophe and his group have failed. Their one year in office feels like a decade. It has been a disaster.”

Mhlophe, who was re-elected as chairman last year, is facing increasing criticism.

This comes at a time he was recently appointed as the new Vice Chairman of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) after he was unopposed during the July election.

Ironically, the new prestigious post has done little to boost his popularity among Highlanders supporters.
