Zimbabwe defender Shane Maroodza released by Kerry FC amid shoplifting allegations
IRELAND – Zimbabwe Warriors defender Shane Maroodza has been released by Kerry FC of Ireland following allegations that he and new teammate Mathyas Randriamamy were involved in a shoplifting incident.
Unconfirmed reports suggest the two players were allegedly caught after stolen items were detected by a scanner as they exited the supermarket.
Confirming their release, the Irish club wrote on Facebook: “Unfortunately, their values and principles didn’t match the standards of the club.”
Maroodza joined Kerry FC last week after parting ways with Huddersfield.
The 21-year old made one and only appearance for Kerry barely 48 hours after signing for the club.
Meanwhile Randriamamy came through the ranks at French giants PSG and was a substitute for a number of their Champions League games.
