HARARE – Popular Dynamos superfan Michael “Mudhara Chuchu” Chindowa is seriously ill and in urgent need of medical assistance.
His condition became public knowledge following his recent interview with journalist Richard Zimunya on NRTV.
In the interview, Chuchu opened up about his year-long battle with severe ulcers.
“Ndinorara ne one side. Rimwe side rese iri rine maraonda. Ndakabatwa ma ulcers,” said Chuchu visibly in pain.
“(I sleep on one side only. The other side of my body is covered in sores. I’ve been diagnosed with ulcers),” said Chuchu, visibly in pain during the interview.
Due to his deteriorating health, Chuchu has been unable to attend Dynamos matches.
Rarely, the popular Mbare based DeMbare supporter would miss his club in action.
However, on Sunday, he wasn’t at Rufaro Stadium for his club’s biggest rival match against Highlanders, resulting in Zimunya asking about his whereabouts.
More critically, his illness has left him unable to provide for his family.
His wife has been forced to borrow money from loan sharks just to make ends meet.
The family is now struggling to repay the debts.
Chuchu is also behind on rent and facing mounting financial challenges.
In his emotional appeal, Chuchu called on well-wishers, football lovers, and the wider Zimbabwean community to assist him in raising funds for his medical treatment and basic needs.
