HARARE – In-form Magesi FC goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze, Germany-based midfielder Jonah Fabisch and Belgium-based winger Bill Antonio have been recalled to the Zimbabwe national team as the Warriors prepare for upcoming international friendlies.
Zimbabwe is set to face Burkina Faso and Niger on the 6th and 10th of June, respectively, with both matches scheduled to be played in Morocco.
On Tuesday, Warriors head coach Michael Nees announced the squad tasked with representing the nation, with Chipezeze, Fabisch, and Antonio earning recalls after lengthy absences.
Chipezeze’s consistent performances in the South African Betway Premiership for Magesi made him difficult to overlook.
Despite being omitted from the recent World Cup qualifiers, the former Chicken Inn and Baroka goalkeeper has reasserted himself as one of the top shot-stoppers in the South African top flight.
He last featured for the Warriors in a 2021 AFCON qualifier away to Algeria.
Meanwhile, Daniel Msendami and Tino Kadewere have also made their return to the national setup.
Msendami was left out during the last international break, while Kadewere has missed several matches due to injury.
