MARONDERA – Marondera based Proton Bakers has continued its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
This comes after the bakery company donated two full sets of football kits to Nyameni High School in the town of Marondera.
The company announced the gesture through its social media platforms, receiving positive feedback, especially from followers on Facebook.
“Proton Bakers recently donated two soccer kits to Nyameni High School in Marondera to support their teams and encourage young talent on the field. Wishing them all the best in their matches ahead,” the company posted.

The donation was met with praise from the Proton Bakers Facebook followers.
One follower, Desire Rangai, commented: “Proton Bakers ploughing back to the community. I like the way you do things.”
Another, Mollie Sithole, added: “Proton the best of the best,” while Bvumai Ndowa wrote: “Well done Team Best of the Best for your Corporate Social Responsibility. The search for new talent should be appreciated.”

Meanwhile, Tavarwisa Junior urged Proton to extend its generosity to other schools, saying: “The best of the best. Mutirangarirewo paCherutombo Primary (also remember us at Cherutombo Primary).”
Star Vale Chikowe went on to suggest that Proton Bakers consider forming a local league in Marondera to further support youth football development.
In 2023, Proton Bakers donated a truck vehicle to police in Marondera for easy mobility when conducting their duty.
In 2024, the company made a donation of 100 litres of paint for renovation of the Bulawayo Public Library.
