The Zimbabwe senior men’s national team received cash bonuses of US$6500 each on Tuesday following their visit to State House as part of celebrations for qualifying for the prestigious Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament scheduled for Morocco in December 2025.

The government set aside US$1 million for the Warriors during a national budget announced by Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube recently.

Speaking at the event President Emmerson Mnangagwa applauded the team for qualifying.

“I extend my hearty congratulations to each member of the team, the coaching staff as well as everyone who contributed to this incredible journey.

“Your dedication, your hard work, and your unwavering spirit of patriotism have brought honour to our beloved mother country Zimbabwe,” said Mnangagwa.

“Going forward I urge our nation to rally behind the Warriors, as they embark on this exciting journey carrying the flag of our great motherland Zimbabwe.

“Zimbabwe here at home and those in diaspora, I encourage you to make requisite arrangements to fill the stadiums to cheer and support our players,” Mnangagwa added

The money is for preparations and participation at the continent’s biggest football tournament scheduled for Morocco in December 2025.
