Elizabeth Tsvangirai, the widow of Zimbabwe’s late opposition leader and former Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, made a heartfelt visit to her mother-in-law on Saturday.
Videos and pictures circulating on social media captured emotional scenes as Elizabeth arrived at Gogo Tsvangirai’s home.
As soon as she stepped out of the car, Elizabeth rushed into Gogo Tsvangirai’s arms, and the two were overcome with emotion, tears streaming down their faces as they shared a heartfelt reunion.
Elizabeth and Gogo Tsvangirai later on shared some lighter moments together.
Gogo Tsvangirai expressed her gratitude to her daughter-in-law for bringing groceries, and in a touching display of concern, she also asked Elizabeth if she had set aside some money for herself after purchasing the groceries.
“Wasara une dollar manje? (have you left a dollar for yourself?),” she asked.
