HARARE – Former jit musician Baba Harare has denied that his wife was the one that pushed him towards a career in gospel music, revealing that he made the decision on his own earlier this year.

Baba Harare recently released his first gospel album titled “Repentance” after quitting secular music.

Reports suggested that his “new” wife, whom he has been spotted on a few occasions with, was the inspiration behind the decision.

Putting a lid on the speculation, Baba Harare revealed that his wife, who remains unknown, had been in his life for a long time. The musician said he had never posted her on social media because he wanted to keep her away from the limelight.

“I have heard people say I recently got married, which is false. I have been married to her for some time, but I did not want her to be in the media. Social media went into an overdrive when her images were published with many versions coming up,” he said.

Baba Harare said while he might miss the perks of touring as a secular musician, he was happy with the decision he made. The musician revealed that God spoke to him while he was on stage in Australia.

“Early this year we travelled to Australia with my group where I had a sold-out show. The fans embraced my music, but God spoke to me and convinced me to quit secular music and serve Him.

“I know I will miss travelling and stuff but I do not regret this move. This is the wisest move I have made in my life,” Baba Harare said.
