MHONDORO – A Premier Soccer League (PSL) match between newcomers Chegutu Pirates and giants Dynamos FC on Thursday was abandoned at Baobab Stadium in Mhondoro as a result of a pitch invasion.
The drama unfolded in stoppage time when Dynamos defender Donald Dzvinyai’s header was ‘cleared’ off the line by a Pirates defender under the net.
The referee awarded the visitors a goal, however that angered Pirates fans who claimed the ball did not fully cross the line, before invading the pitch in protest.
This incident comes amidst growing concerns over officiating standards in the PSL.
The country’s football family has been accusing referees of bias and questionable calls with some claiming they are being paid to influence results.
Recently, a match pitting FC Platinum and CAPS United at Mandava Stadium was also abandoned in stoppage time.
CAPS United fans stormed the pitch in the 89th minute to protest a disallowed goal by Ralph Kawondera, which could have leveled matters to 1-1.
Probably, results for both matches will be decided in the board by the PSL through their Disciplinary Committee.

Its a goal.

Ma referees are causing all this chaos
Instead of fixing the problem who are the referees in most cases, clubs are made to pay for the shit coming from incompetent thugs masquerading as referees. It is really a shame
Next time fans invad the pitch they need to carry out justice to the incompetent idiot at the centre of it all. That way our football will get rid of these fraudsters parading themselves referees
