Warriors star Marshall Munetsi named in French Ligue 1 team of the month
Impressive Zimbabwe Warriors utility player Marshall Munetsi was on Wednesday named in the French Ligue 1 “Team of the Month” published by WhoScored.com, a respected football statistics website.
The 26-year-old who plays for French top-flight league side Stade Reims is in red-hot form.
Despite missing one match in February owing to a hip muscle injury, Munetsi provided two assists and scored twice adding his season’s tally to five goals.
His latest goal came through last Sunday when Reims beat Toulouse 3-0 at the Auguste Delaune stadium.
Munetsi has been named in the team of the month which comprises of stars in PSG’s trio of Lionel Messi, Kylan Mbappe and Archraf Hakimi and team mates Junya Ito and Yunis Abdelhamid.
The Zimbabwean international is rubbing shoulders with superstars after being invited to the Best Fifa Football Awards ceremony that was held in Paris, France earlier this week.
Posting on his Facebook page, the ex-Orlando Pirates player shared photos of himself with Manchester United’s midfield maestro Casemiro and Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk.
