SuperSport United to appoint Onismor Bhasera youth coach after retirement

South African DStv Premiership outfit SuperSport United are set to appoint Zimbabwe Warriors full back Onismor Bhasera, who is also their club captain, as a coach for their developmental side after his retirement at the end of the season.

This was confirmed by the club’s CEO Stan Matthews in an interview with South African publication Soccer Laduma.

“Yes, there will be upskilling of his [Bhasera] coaching courses as we have done with other players before in the past.

“You know he is a great player and good human. He looks after his body and lives a clean life. He represents everything that we as a club look for in a human being and a footballer,” said Matthews.

“So as a club, we don’t toss away such a loyal person at a time when loyalty means nothing. We will keep him in the system.”

Bhasera joined SuperSport in 2016 from defunct Bidvest Wits on a three year deal and extended his stay with the club twice but his contract expires in June.

Bhasera who is already preparing for his life after football, recently graduated after completing the 2022 PSL Player Transition Programme at the Gordon Institute of Business Science [GIBS] in Johannesburg.
