Former Bosso forward Prince Dube scores in Azam’s 1-1 draw with Simba
Former Highlanders forward Prince ‘Mgadafi’ Dube was on the score sheet when his side Azam FC drew 1-1 with Simba SC during a Tanzanian Premier League that was played at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on Tuesday.
Dube gave Azam an early lead after breaking the deadlock with only 16 seconds into the game, and his early strike could probably be the fastest goal of the season in Tanzania.
Nonetheless, his goal proved not enough for Azam who thought they had registered a win until their defender Abdallah Kheri scored an own goal in the dying minutes of the match.
It was Mgadafi’s second goal in six days after finding another when Azam saw off Mlandege 3-0 in friendly match last week.
Following the draw, Azam remains third on the log standings level on points (44) with fourth placed Singida Big Stars but ahead on goal difference after 23 matches.
Simba SC are now on second position with 54 points, five points behind the current log leaders Young Africans who play KMC today.
