‘Marvelous’ start for Nakamba at Luton Town as they win on his debut

Warriors’ central midfielder Marvelous Nakamba made a winning start on his Luton Town FC debut at the weekend when the Hatters beat visitors Stoke City 1-0 during a Championship match played at the Kenilworth Road Stadium.

The Zimbabwean international who is on loan from English Premier League side Aston Villa was subbed on in the 62nd minute, replacing Allan Campbell.

“Great to see Zimbabwe international @Nakamba_11 coming on for his first minutes in a Luton FC shirt yesterday (Saturday). Looked very comfortable on the ball,” tweeted a Twitter handle with a username We are Luton Town.

A hard and low short from outside the box by Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu was enough to separate the two teams and also to hand the Warriors star, Nakamba a good start at Luton.

The 29-year-old who completed his six months loan move to Luton last week on Tuesday could also feature for the side when they host Grimsby Town in a FA Cup tie tomorrow (Tuesday).

Saturday’s victory saw Luton Town FC rank fourth on the log table with 48 points, going level with third placed Middlesborough who are one place above due to a superior goal difference.

They travel to play Coventry City in a league fixture this coming Saturday.
