Byo Chiefs appoint former FC Platinum head coach Lizwe Sweswe
Ambitious Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Bulawayo Chiefs announced the appointment of former FC Platinum gaffer Lizwe Sweswe as their new coach.
Sweswe replaced the Portuguese gaffer Nilton Terroso who was in charge of Chiefs but went back to Europe in October when his work permit expired.
“Dear Zimbabwe and The World, allow us to introduce our Head Coach LIZWE SWESWE. He is now a NINJA. Now lets begin Year 2023,” Chiefs tweeted.
The former Tsholotsho FC coach joined Chiefs from the Southern Region Division One league outfit Talen Vision.
Sweswe guided Platinum to their third successive league title in 2019 when they defeated CAPS United 1-0 at the National Sports Stadium in Harare.
Speaking to the Chronicle a day after his appointment at Chiefs, Sweswe said he is geared up for the new challenge.
He is also expressed his happiness to make a return to the PSL after spending two years coaching in the lower league since parting ways with Platinum in 2020.
