Murape leaves Betis Academy; retraces footsteps back to DeMbare

Dynamos legend Murape Murape has quit his job as the Real Betis Academy Zimbabwe head coach, the football institution announced on Sunday.

Monya, as Murape is affectionally known leaves Betis for his childhood club Dynamos, where he has reportedly been roped in as one of the club’s assistant coaches along with Genesis Mangombe who left Yadah recently.

Confirming Murape’s departure, wrote Real Betis on their Facebook page:

“We can confirm that Murape Murape has left the post of Head Coach of Real Betis Academy after taking up an offer to join Dynamos Football Club on a full time basis,” reads the academy’s post.

“We would like to thank Murape for his service and efforts and wish him the very best in his next chapter.”

Murape who once assumed the role of assistant coach at Dynamos before he was shown the exit door at the start of the 2019 season, has been at Betis since his appointment in 2020 upon the inception of the football institution.

Recently, he travelled with the academy to Spain during its tour to La Liga side Real Betis Balompie’s headquarters.

Meanwhile, at DeMbare, Murape]and Mangombe will deputize newly appointed head coach Herbert Maruwa.
